The origin of YUKIONNA is a snow-covered tree.
Because it is just like a woman standing still.
Until 18th century, some of the traditions said that she was very tall.
I think she should be called 'monster' rather than 'fairy' or 'demon'.
But in the modern period, many kind of monsters have been declined.
Her monstrosity also have been removed,
while her ghostliness and her charms have been emphasized.
Then the contemporary figure of YUKIONNA has taken hold.
